I-684 Closure Update: State Police Vehicle Rear-Ended By Tractor-Trailer

A New York State trooper conducting a traffic stopped was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer, closing all lanes on a stretch of northbound I-684 late Friday morning in Northern Westchester.

All lanes reopened at around 3 p.m.

According to Trooper AJ Hicks, the tractor-trailer spun out of control after hitting the trooper's vehicle and then hit another car around 10:30 a.m. just north of Exit 4 in Bedford.

There were several injuries reported, but Hicks believed most are minor.

The closure occurred between the Saw Mill Parkway (Exit 5) in Katonah and Route 172 (Exit 4) in Bedford as officials conducted an investigation. The left lane reopened at around 12:15 p.m.
